Corporate Social Responsibility

We care about our local and global environment, because we believe that it is central to our business. Corporate Social Responsibility is not really a new concept for Allies®, although the phrase might be. Our family based values have always led us to take care of the local area and to minimise the impact of our company on the world as a whole.

We like being 'green'

We believe in leading the field in terms of our products and we do the same when it comes to the environment. We are always looking at new ways of reducing our impact on the environment and these are some of the things we're already doing:

• We are members of the Government's Cycle Scheme which allows us to offer bicycles to staff at reduced rates.
• We have provided reflective cycle bibs for staff to aid their safety.
• Recycling bins are in all of our offices, staff rooms and kitchens and we recycle as much as we can.
• Power is sourced from a sustainable electricity provider.
• All paper product purchasing decisions (including marketing brochures, business cards, letterheads etc.) are based on the supplier providing goods that contain the highest percentage of recycled material and use non chemical-based dyes for any printing.
• We encourage the use of public transport for business purposes instead of driving and we use video conferencing software instead of face to face meetings where possible.
• We measure our carbon footprint and offset it monthly, as well as setting targets to reduce consumption.
• We're working towards becoming a paperless organisation and have made many steps towards this already.

Our Environmental Policy aims to exceed the level required by British Standards including BS EN ISO 14001:2004. We're currently implementing systems to meet and exceed this Environmental Standard.

We do our bit for charity too

Over the years we have supported many different charities by doing the following:

• Our staff completing various events such as a sponsored bike ride.
• Having an annual donation budget, donated to charities chosen by staff members.
• Giving all registered charities 5% discount on our products.
